Ignite is an event held in over 100 cities worldwide. Sharing personal and professional passions, Ignite speakers use 20 slides that auto-advance every 15 seconds for a talk time of just five minutes.
Having been a part of the Ignite Cardiff team for 3 years and counting, we are delighted to bring our creative input to the table, designing the website, slide templates and leaflets. The event has grown from an average attendance of 50 at O’Neils, to a packed out Glee club housing 450 for each and every event.
Nurturing that social buzz
The whole Ignite team works hard to generate a ‘buzz’ around these free events. Social media is a big driving force behind the events promotion (brilliantly managed by Miranda Bishop). The website and ticket countdown help to generate a lot of social sharing in the run up to ticket releases. The tickets now sell out in under 1 minute!
The Ignite website itself is designed to let the speakers ‘do the talking’. Images are used to showcase the speakers and create instant impact. The information shown to users is carefully chosen based on where we are in the event cycle, ranging from looking for speakers, announcing event dates or counting down to the ticket release.
Videos from previous events are categorised and easily searchable, giving each speaker their own page and 5 minutes of fame.
