Planning Officers Society Wales is the collective voice of Chief Planning Officers from local planning authorities across Wales. In addition to a responsive website, they asked us to create a modern identity to represent them and the important role they play across the country. As well as displaying their full name, the brand needed to include the POSW acronym. Then just to make things a little more interesting, they threw another challenge into the mix – the brand needed to be bilingual too. A tricky task for sure, but one we relished.
Focusing on the concept of location, we cooked up an identity based around a map marker that not only flowed seamlessly alongside the name, but was iconic enough to stand on its own. To make the brand really pop we utilised a vibrant, green accent colour as a subtle nod to Wales.

It’s all in the details
Never one to miss the details, we pushed the visual message of location even further by incorporating the lines of a topographic map to act as a background element through the website and across printed stationery. To compliment these shapes, all the photography used on the website and printed literature are displayed within organic bubbles.

Most of the time your website is the first thing potential customers will look for, so it’s crucial for you to look your very best. We designed POSW’s website to be clear, simple to navigate, quickly communicate what they do, and include clear calls to action for users who want to get in touch. Most importantly, it’s on-brand and has a consistent feel throughout.
