A bit about the project

Before the pandemic, the Dublin Liberties Distillery’s spine-tingling tours were one of the company’s biggest money-makers. When lockdown hit, the tours came to a halt and, like many businesses, the DLD adapted by selling their products online via a Shopify website. As the world began to return to normal, they commissioned Karolo to craft a captivating website that would entice more people than ever to discover the darkness of the DLD.

Our Solution

Our designers really leaned into the gothic vibes for this one. The deep, dark brand colours provided the perfect moody backdrop for the site, while the subtle fade effect on text and images showcase the tours and historic venue in all their unsettling glory. In contrast, the copper of the buttons entices visitors to delve deeper by purchasing a whiskey, booking a tour or enquiring about venue hire.

We integrated code from their existing booking and purchasing systems, allowing the DLD team to continue managing their own sales, stock and reservations with no tedious training period. With easily accessible locations and directions, Dublin tourists and locals alike will find it easier than ever to discover the haunting history of this world-class distillery.

From brief, to concept, to implementation, I could not be more impressed with the effectiveness, exceptional communication and high standard at which the team at Karolo carried out our website design and development. Having received praise from staff and customers alike, our new website design and functionality has taken our brand to a new level.
