A bit about the project
We’ve enjoyed working with CCR for years now. So, when they got in touch to discuss plans for a new early talent skills framework, we jumped at the challenge. They needed a new identity for their established graduate scheme to boost engagement with businesses and graduates. Their ambitious plans for the framework include a whole host of specialist programmes, so they enlisted us to design a flexible umbrella brand that could encompass it all.
The logo
First things first, the name. We put our heads together and decided upon ‘Venture’; a memorable brand name that perfectly evokes the ambition of the CCR programmes.
Armed with the perfect name, we got the ball rolling on designing a sleek logo for the master brand that we could change up to fit each sub-brand. The final family of bilingual logo assets forms the foundation of a truly flexible brand identity that covers all work undertaken by Venture with striking consistency.
The website
When building the website, we wanted to use the distinct sub-identities to make it easy to find out all about Venture’s many activities:
- On each sub-brand’s section of the website, we made sure to replace the master brand’s logo and colours with their own.
- When referencing the sub-brands in other parts of the site, we incorporated their assigned colours to link it all up. Our favourite example of this is the interactive map on the homepage, where the Venture Graduates’ shade of bright blue flashes to show the number of graduates placed in roles across the region.
With an easy-to-use admin area, and after a brief training session in our Cardiff studio, the staff at Venture have full control to keep all their opportunities and resources up to date.
Brand guidelines
With a fresh-off-the-press logo package in hand, Venture needed a way to ensure their growing team could use the new identity effectively. We designed a bespoke set of brand guidelines, clearly communicating how to keep their brand consistent in the real world, from colour details for each sub-brand, to sample signatures and suggested imagery.
Social media assets
This new endeavour was a big deal for Venture, so we wanted to make sure they could unveil the project in style. Our designers whipped up a launch graphics package brimming with everything from teaser tweets to LinkedIn ads.
The centrepiece of the package was the slick motion graphic designed to introduce Venture, its sub-brands, and the best bits of the new site. The custom animation was shared all over their new social profiles, creating invaluable buzz for the launch and building a solid foundation of followers.
Printed Literature
The Venture team are all about engaging directly with the people they aim to connect, so we set them up with some concrete assets to take out into the world:
- To make sure they stand out at every event, we sourced quality branded pens, bags, t-shirts, and more.
- To get their message out to a wider audience and build credibility in the new brand, we designed striking bilingual flyers and posters.
- We created elegant business cards with custom QR codes to make light work of connecting with businesses and individuals.
